Obituary for Lillie Yarrell

Lillie  Yarrell
Lillie Yarrell was born on November 10, 1926 to the late Anna Lee-Yarrell and Julius Yarrell in Bertie County, North Carolina. Lillie was a resident of Bronx, New York for eighty-three years.
She attended Central-Needle Trade High School (today known as High School of Fashion Industries). After High School she continued her education and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She attended Bronx Community College, majoring in Nursing and completed her education at the College of New Rochelle, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts.
While attending Central-Needle Trade High School Lillie met Nathaniel Woods. Lillie’s and Dr. Nathaniel Woods were married in 1945 in the month of June. To this union four children were born Carolyn, Fred, Linda and Cheryl. Lillie’s second marriage was in 1967 to Mr. Lee Trotman.
Lillie was employed by Jacobi Hospital in the Bronx, New York where she worked as an Assistant Nurse in Labor & Delivery for ten years. She was later employed by Morningside Retirement Home where she worked as a Nurse for approximately twenty years.
Lillie enjoyed fishing, sewing, knitting, playing scrabble and most of all reading. She was the matriarch of five living generations and has been a member of St. David ‘s Church for fifty years.
Lillie leaves to cherish her memory her children, daughters - Carolyn Thomas, Linda Woods and Cheryl Myles, son, Fred Woods, daughter-in-law, Theresa Woods; a sister, Elizabeth Blake; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grand children; one great-great grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
